How to earn star anises

1 star anise per ¥100 spent

After your meal, before you pay, tell our staff “I’m a member”. You earn one star anise for every ¥100 (tax included) of your bill.

  • Star anises are counted on your tax-included total after any discounts have been applied. Amounts under ¥100 are rounded down.
  • Star anises are added once your payment is complete.

There are two kinds of star anises

Available star anises are the ones you spend on coupons. Lifetime star anises decide your membership tier. Redeeming a coupon uses up available star anises, but your lifetime star anises never go down. That is why redeeming coupons will never lower your membership tier.

Redeem the star anises you have collected for coupons on pho, toppings and other menu items you like. You can see which items are available in your member page after signing up.

  • No expiry

    Star anises never expire. What you have earned stays with you.

  • Higher tiers earn faster

    The higher your membership tier, the faster your star anises add up. Diamond members earn at 1.3 times the rate.

    Press the “Sign up” button, or go straight to my.vietorigin.jp.

    Enter your details

    Enter your name, phone number, email address and a password. Your email address is the key that identifies your account.

    Registration complete

    That is all it takes. Star anises start adding up from your next meal.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does membership cost anything?
No. Registration is free.
Do star anises or coupons expire?
Star anises never expire. A coupon expires 90 days after the day you redeem it. An expired coupon can no longer be used, and the star anises are not returned.
Where and when can I redeem coupons?
At the register when you pay. Tell our staff and they will show you which coupons you can redeem. You can also redeem a coupon in advance in your member page and use it later.
When is my membership tier reviewed?
If a member goes 365 consecutive days without a transaction that earns star anises, their membership tier is lowered by one level. Available star anises are not affected.
Can I sign up through LINE or an app?
Not at the moment. There is no registration through LINE or a dedicated app. Please sign up at my.vietorigin.jp.
Can I exchange star anises for cash, or give them to someone else?
No. Star anises cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account.
Where can I find my member number?
After you log in, your member page shows a QR code and your member number. Please show it when you pay.
